The next regular meeting of the Sedan City Council will be held on Tuesday, February 4th, 2025, at 5:30 pm at city hall.

Sedan is situated on business US-166 and K-99 in the beautiful Chautauqua hills of south-central Kansas. Many visitors will visualize this region as the Kansas Ozarks since blue-stem grass and black jack oaks cover sandstone-capped rolling hills. The City of Sedan is now accepting applications for Public Works Superintendent until January 31st, 2025. The Public Works Superintendent supervises and directs all work done by the city crew. Maintains schedules and time cards and approves time off. Works with the mayor, the council, and city hall on all city projects. Maintains all city infrastructure including water distribution, meter readings, wastewater collection system, lift stations, street maintenance, park maintenance, park buildings and swimming pools. Maintains the city airport and coordinates with flight services, maintains all city equipment and vehicles, and oversees all utility work done in the city by private contractors. Oversee the city lakes and all lake property. This position will require obtaining state certification for water and wastewater operator.
